Cheryl grew up living on various coastlines around South Africa, but it was not until she came to live in the west of Ireland that she discovered the value of seaweed. Sharing her passion for low tide foraging, Cheryl encourages people to become familiar with the various seaweeds and use them in the kitchen. “The secret of a seaweed diet is to use small amounts frequently mixed in with other foods.” Exploring the rocky coastlines around Clew Bay becomes an adventure of discovery, finding so many different seaweeds that become sea vegetables when carefully harvested and prepared for fine dining.
